A picture of Pepperbox soil.The Pepperbox series consists of very deep, moderately well drained soils. They formed in sandy coastal plain sediments deposited over finer textured coastal plain sediments. They are on level and nearly level uplands. Slopes range from 0 to 5 percent. Mean annual soil temperature is 56 degrees F and mean annual precipitation is 44 inches at the type location.
